Sullivan, Joseph Brian
Joseph Brian Sullivan, Boulder, CO, formerly of De Pere, was received by His Lord Jesus Christ on April 27, 2013. He was born September 8, 1989 in Green Bay, son of Brian and Nancy (Morrow) Sullivan. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School in 2009.
Joe is also known as "Udo" by his brother, Sam. Joseph from birth shared his smile and laughter with so many people. He loved people and was always sharing himself with whoever he encountered. His other love was animals, and two of them were his dogs, Oscar (his little wiener dog), and Miley, his baby girl. He never met a stray he turned away but would have taken them all in. His love showed through his family, friends, and animals, which was one of his many loving attributes. He learned to love people with the help of the Lord and his loving families.
He will be deeply missed by his Mom and Dad, Brian and Nancy Sullivan; grandmother, Bowie; his brothers, George and Samuel; his aunts and uncles, Mike and Margaret, Pat and Ron, Mary and Tim, Josie and Casey, Mary, Bill and Tracy, and David; also his Immanuel Lutheran Church family and Manitowoc Lutheran High School family; his special love and best friend, Carolyn. He became the man he is because of them and his Lord Jesus Christ.
Joseph was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; maternal grandparents; uncles, Eric and Steven; and an aunt, Cheryl.
Family and friends may call Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shirley, with Rev. J.C. Eggert and Rev. Timothy Lindloff officiating. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
The family extends a special thank you for all the loving support from family and friends

May the memories of Joe and the love of family surround you and give you strength in the days ahead. I will never forget his laugh, and the deep connection he shared with my dog, Gracie, whom he lovingly referred to as “Noodles”. With every pet, tail wag and “shake a paw”, I feel like Joe is still here with us in his own way, shining his own special light. Somebody as special as Joe will never be forgotten and he will remain in our hearts forever.

Joe,
Britt and I still feel like you are here, building fires in the fireplace with your medieval sword and laughing a laugh that was so sincere and uniquely yours. Without you I would have rarely enjoyed a shift at the Red Lion Inn, and I'm glad I was blessed with the many times we hung out together whether on the job or off the clock. Without you, I would have never even met Britt in the first place (I still remember you nudging me and whispering "I think you've got a chance!" during one of our wedding shifts!) Most of all, I remember the way you loved animals, and specifically Britt's dog Gracie as if she had been in your life since the start. You loved that dog unconditionally and in a way I have never had the joy of witnessing before. Gracie hasn't been the same since you left us, and neither have we.

Dear Nancy,Brian, Sam, & George,
Ray just came home & told us that Joe passed away. Our deepest sympathies for the loss of a son. We never know when our time here on this earth is over. But it is so hard to comprehend anytime but for our children to go before us is even harder to comprehend. Our thoughts & prayers go out to you to help you understand that the Lord in his utmost wisdom guided this and brought Joe safely to his heavenly home to be with Him. Sincerely Jon & Jean Schwalbe.
