My sincere condolences to the families of Jimmie and Lucy Taylor. My husband, Harold, and Jimmie were good "push-up" buddies. Lucy and Jimmie were a gracious Southern couple. We will miss them.

The 17th Airborne Division family has lost two wonderful members. First Lucy and now Jimmie. They were such a joy to be with and will be sorely missed. Jimmie was the epitome of the gentleman patriot of the "greatest generation" and Lucy the lovely Southern lady. My wife, Elsa, and I grieve and send our most heartfelt condolences to their family. It is with exceeding sadness that I write this message. There is now a great void, which it is hoped happy memories of them will fill. We were blessed having them as friends.

I am sadden by the news of Jimmie's passing, my dad served with Jimmie durning WWII and always remained friends. Had the privilege of meeting Jimmie and Lucy at the 17th ABN Reunions over the years. I will leave y'all with this Irish Blessing:

Feel no guilt in laughter, he'd know how much you care. Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to. He'd hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,
That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here,
And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart
And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.
