Doris Isabelle Wilkerson

Doris Isabelle Wilkerson, 94, of Nampa, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Doris was born May 9, 1921 in Wilder, ID to Walter and Susie Ode. Doris was raised in Notus, ID where she graduated from Notus High School.
Doris married Barney Wilkerson on December 24, 1940. Upon Barney's return from World War II, they made their home in Nampa where they raised their three daughters, Sharon, Pam, and Vicki. Doris was an avid volunteer in many organizations including, March of Dimes, Jay-C-Ettes, Lady Elks, Native Daughters of Idaho, PTA, and many others. In her spare time Doris enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, painting, and fishing with Barney (often times out-fishing him). She also loved entertaining friends and family. After retiring, they spent many winters enjoying the warmth of the Arizona/Nevada sunshine.
Doris had a heart of gold and anyone that knew her was blessed to experience her kind, thoughtful character. She was selfless and gave all she had to her family and friends, her generous heart and sweet disposition will be missed by all.
Doris is survived by her children, Sharon (Antone) Chacartegui, Pam (Skip) Tuttle, and Vicki (Ted) Arnold; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Susie Ode; her husband Barney Wilkerson; and great-grandson, Robert Byron Coggins.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
