I am so sad to hear about the death of my “Uncle” Arthur. Yes, he was my Uncle, but somehow he never quite seemed like my Uncle because he was only three years older than I, and we used to play together when we were kids.

I have many fond memories of those years because we had so much fun together. We both had Idaho Statesman paper routes. He with his Cushman Motor Bike and me with my Montgomery Ward's Bike. It was such a treat in the mornings when we would stop at a café & have coffee and a maple bar, which always tasted so good after it was dunked in hot black coffee. And we both felt so grown up. (He was about 16 and I was about 13) What a wonderful time that was. Even though we didn't see each other much as adults I shall miss him a lot.

And Vonnie, you were so good for him. I know you will miss him greatly, as we all will, but you should know that you were the love of his life. After he married you he settled down and became a contented man with roots, and together you and he had a wonderful life.

He was a wonderful man, and you had a lot to do with making him a highly respected member in your community!

I know he will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
