Brandon Dale Erickson went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on November 21, 2013 due to complications following back surgery. It was his second procedure since June 2012, when he was injured on a call while working with the Meridian Fire Department. He was 36.
Brandon was a gentle giant of quiet strength, deep compassion, and generous love. He was a treasured son and brother, doting husband, remarkable father, and unwavering friend. Those who met Brandon were intuitively drawn to his integrity and compassion. Brandon's life was defined by giving: family life, community service, overseas mission work, and a life of faith lived with a transparent heart are just some of the hallmarks of his everyday life.
Brandon loved adventure; besides being an avid hunter, he sought to make a difference both in his community and in overseas mission work, reaching out with medical skills training and genuine joy. Brandon also loved to laugh and enjoy life thoroughly: from Mr. Roboto performances on Guitar Hero to loud worship music, photography, videography, and favorite meals of any kind of meat, he was well known for his humor and warmth.
Brandon was an inspiring EMS instructor; the impact on those he trained will be seen for years to come in their service. Brandon himself was a lifelong learner and a quiet man of action. His ability to share God's grace with tenderness and candid sincerity were just part of what helped light any room he entered and make each person he met feel deeply valued.
Brandon's humble strength and unflagging generosity made him an excellent paramedic and fireman. He began his career as a wildland firefighter with the Idaho Department of Lands. He was a volunteer firefighter in Eagle and Star while working at Micron Technology. He became an Ada County paramedic, quickly moving to the Meridian Fire Department. He was also an EMT and Paramedic Training instructor at Guardian College. In April 2013 he accepted the position of Eagle Fire Department EMS Training Captain.
Brandon was born January 4, 1977 in Bozeman, Montana. He graduated from West Jefferson High School in Terreton, Idaho. He and wife Bonni were married in September, 2005. He was a member of the Treasure Valley Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society (FOOLS).
Brandon is survived by wife Bonni Erickson, daughter Meghan White, and son Jack Erickson; mother Linda Cope and step-mother Peggy Erickson; brother and sister-in-law Shawn and Erlonna Erickson (Taten, Ali, Tike); brother and sister-in-law CJ and Destiny Zielie (Presley); and many more beloved family and friends. Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Bob Erickson.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Eagle Christian Church, 100 S. Short Road, Eagle, ID. Graveside services to follow at Meridian Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made through Idaho Central Credit Union to the "Brandon Erickson Memorial", which will provide for Meghan and Jack's college education.
Remembrances and photos may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

I met Brandon during a 5 day training class we were putting on in Phoenix AZ. We teach about 2 dozen of these classes a year around the country. We have been truly blessed to be able to meet and interact with fantastic people from our service. Brandon was one of those special people you meet every once in while that you really connect with. He was always very happy, excited, and pleasure to hang out with. The world sucks a lot more without Brandon in it.
Please let me pass on my families deepest condolences and sympathies. He will truly be missed

To Erickson Family,
I was Brandon's former former security supervisor at Micron-West-Spectek. The things I remember most about Brandon was he never met a stranger. When I ran into him in the store a while back he even shook my young daughter's hand and she remembered what a nice guy he was. He always had a smile on his face and made people feel at ease. He was a unique guy who had a continual thirst for knowledge and learning. This is a quality not many people have. He always wanted to help others and was a top notch CPR/First Aid Instructor. He will be missed. I will always remember what a great guy he was and his awesome work ethic. He was always wanted to do more for everyone. My thoughts & prayers are with Brandon's young family during this difficult time. He'll be missed and remembered.

God shows an example of a Purpose Driven Life in your story, Brandon. It is amazing that at 36 years young, you leave a Lifesaving Legacy and footprints in every life you touched. God Bless your family, wife, children, fellow firefighters, friends. Thank you for your heroism, skills, and for teaching and leading by example. You will never be forgotten, your legacy will live on. What a beautiful thing to leave your children. Go rest high on that mountain.

I worked with Brandon at Micron when he was in the environmental group. Our group worked intensely on an upcoming audit; and Brandon always lifted our moods with his easygoing personality and big smile! A big teddy bear he was. We miss you Brandon and were so blessed to work with you.

Brandon you once risked your safety to save me and made it very clear that I was more than just a friend to you. Thank you! I will never forget the true friendship you gave to me. I can honestly say I loved you as a brother and true friend. You will be missed so much. To his family, he was lucky and blessed to have been guided by God to you and vice a versa. It will be overwhelming to see the number of lives he was able to touch while the Lord had him here on Earth. May God continue to bless you all!
