I'm sorry you are gone but happy to know you are with God. If you were as wonderful as your mother then I know you are now an angel for God.

She is gone but not forgotten. We pray that God will put His loving arms around her family and strengthen them in their time of need. Your daughter, wife, and mother made the ultimate sacrifice for her country and we are very grateful for her service to this nation.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Sgt. Camella Steedley.
I am the coordinator for San Diego, Orange and Kern Counties in California for a national organization, Home of the Brave Quilts ( homeofthebravequilts.com ). We are a grassroots group of quilters decicated to honoring the memory of each of America's fallen heroes in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Two quilts have been made to honor the memory of Sgt. Steedley. We would like to send one of the quilts to her husband and children and the other to her parents. It is our hope that the quilts will give some comfort to know that she has not been and will not be forgotten.
I am listed at the above website on the coordinators page under California. You can email me at the email address provided on that page ( terisa.s@hotmail.com ), or you can go to the tab labeled "Quilts" and click on "Request a Quilt" and fill out the request.

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (ps4fs@charter.net) is an organization with groups throughout the country who work to send handmade prayer shawls and/or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one while serving our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church would like to honor your daughter, wife and mother's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a prayer gift which will be mailed to you. If you are interested, please contact me at gramman@comcast.net with the names and addresses of those who would like to receive one and which gift they would like to receive. We will send our gift as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved on who died while serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

I'll lend you for a little while, a child of mine, God said.
For you to love while she lives and mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or forty-two or three.
But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you and should her stay be brief,
You'll always have her memories as a solace in your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn.
I've looked this whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the folks that crowd Life's Lane I have chosen you.
Now will you give her all your love and not think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again?
I fancy that I heard you say “Dear God, thy will be done.
For all the joys this child will bring the risk of grief we'll run.
We will shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may
And for all the happiness we've ever known, we'll ever grateful stay.
But should the angels call her much sooner than we'd planned
We will brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

I am the mother of Fallen Hero, Marine LcCpl Nathaniel Schultz. I feel your pain deep within my heart. The poem above brought me much comfort and I pray it brings you comfort as well. Giving one's life for your country is the highest act of patriotism possible. Your daughter was a true patriot. Her bravery and valor are evident. She died defending freedom for the country she loved so dearly. We wanted to let you know how very sorry we are. Please extend our sympathy to your entire family.

God Bless You and God Bless America.
