Oh Harper, you still crack me up!
i meet Harper through our dear mutual friends Janet Corpus and John Hoffmeyer. Close to her stellar sense of humor i was also priviledged to enjoy her amazing cooking (dark meat in chicken salad notwithstanding.) When Judy arrived into her life, the happiness was so evident. It is amazing how much joy a person can make in a short life - and Harper packed it in. She was an amazing person on earth and I am sure her life in the spirit world is making some waves. Missed here deeply. She was a one of a kind.

I am a total stranger to Miss Mcgarr, yet I wish I had met her. What a wonderful lady! I can be like the total stranger who asked if they saw her at the theater! Obviously she shines even from heaven. Thanks for the wonderful obituary, if of course this is in the good taste I like to think I share with Miss Mcgarr. Many Blessings to her and her family and dear friends! Cheryl

Hello to Ellen's friends and family,

I met Ellen at seminary in Philadelphia. She and I became fast friends and she eventually welcomed me to live with her after my graduation from seminary when I was in between school and a job. Ellen touched my life in so many ways that they would fill many pages here. I lost touch with her over the years and it saddens me that she is no longer in this world however, I am so happy she has joined the saints. I loved Ellen even though we were no longer part of each other's daily lives. My life is better for having known Ellen. My thoughts and prayers are with you Judy and the rest of her family.....Much love to you all

A mutual friend just told me of Ellen's passing and shared her incredible obituary! She was one spunky funny lady and as sad I was to hear of her passing, it made me smile and laugh to read this! I met Ellen during the William Carey Dinner Theater years and it was indeed "special" Ironically another of that crew - Cecil Rimes - just passed a few weeks ago. They both will be missed!

Dear McGarr and Troyer families,
It is with deep sadness, and great joy that I read the ascendence of one of the brightest lights to her rightful position in the Firmament of Heaven (and the correct angle of the head tilt on the shoulder of our Lord). I knew Ellen at WCC for a brief time, travelled to see her during her exile in the North, and have struggled to find her again. Alas, I shall have to view her brilliance from afar (as usual, and as fitting).
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy, empathy, and a figurative casserole in your time of mourning.
Ellen is and will remain the most kind, generous, witty, thoughtful, brilliant, talented, and beautiful people I was blessed to meet. I am grateful for the time God allotted her here. She remains in my heart always.

How I wish I could have known Ellen. Reading this witty and wonderful obit has made me realize how boring my life is. Thanks to Ellen, I am going to make a change today. My condolences to Judy and Ellen's family.
