My father was Robert Smith (Bob), who Jerry worked with in Mankato. Jerry actually followed my dad to Idaho, at the encouragement of Daddy. They worked together in Pocatello during the early '70s. As young girls my sisters and I were completely intrigued by Jerry. He was entertaining and fun and I can remember him coming to our cabin in McCall, before he ever lived there. He and Daddy's other friends (including Steve Millard and his wife) got together frequently and always enjoyed each other's company. I know there were many golf dates. We lost Daddy in 1994 to pancreatic cancer. He was in Oregon at the time. He had returned to hospital administration after taking a few years off.
I am sorry for your loss. I saw Jerry just a short while ago in Sun Valley at an IHA function and we reminisced briefly about the good old days when he and Daddy and Steve were young and just getting started.
Prayers go out to you and for Jerry. God Bless.
