Bethine was, and will remain, the political, ethical rudder by which she and Sen. Church led so many of us through the political jungle of Washington, D.C. Forever an optimist, with a delightful persona, care for almost everyone she met, and an iron will do right. We need more Bethines in our lives.

Senator and Mrs. Church had a major impact on my family's life. Senator Church speerheaded my dad's appointment as Postmaster in Weiser Idaho in 1967. I still have the telegram Senator Church sent my dad congratulating him on the appointment by President Johnson. I also have a signed political pamphlet signed by Senator and Mrs. Church when then visited Weiser with other Democratic Candidates. She and the Senator were great leaders.

Senator and Mrs. Church had a major impact on my family's life. My Dad was appointed Postmaster in Weiser by President Johnson. It was Senator Church who pushed that through. I still have the telegram Senator Church sent. When I was a young boy I received a signed broucher from Senator and Mrs. Church when they visited Weiser, which I still have today. She and Senator Church were truly great leaders.
