To his family, my prayers are with you. Your loss is shared by all of us who knew Joe.

While Joe may have passed, he will never be forgotten. He introduced me to the LOUMC 35 years ago, baptized George Wolverton and me in that sanctuary, and through his sermons and personal conversations left me with concepts and stories that I refer to and share with others to this day. The distinction of "Weather" and "Climate" in one's life and relationships as well as the lessons in the sermon trilogy, "Faith, Hope, and Charity" are just two that come readily to mind - "Faith is action based on reasonable Hope". Joe's life was an E ticket Ride. He stimulated others to experience their own ride. In the world he has left, his beat goes on.

My condolences to you, Bev, and all of the family. I only met Joe once, but he seemed like a kind, generous and personable man. I am sure that he will be missed.

The obituary was a wonderful tribute to your husband. It has been over a year for me and I can say it hasn't been any easier. See you in July.

I have great respect and admiration for Joe. His wisdom and commitment to his faith were an inspiration to all who knew him. He has "fought the good fight", he has "finished the race", he has "kept the faith". I pray that remembering this will be of comfort to his family.
Sincerely,

Joe will forever be in my heart ??

It has been a privilege to have worked with Joe for many years and to consider him a friend. He has been an outstanding leader in our church and the world is a much better place because Joe lived and worked in it. He is missed.

Our dear friend and mentor, Joe, has joined that great "cloud of witnesses" and will live on in our lives in memory. His love for humankind through the mission program of the United Methodist Church in God's name is his legacy. He lived his passion, and we are blessed to have known him.
