We just learn about Aunt Melba passing. Wish we could have been there. We visited with her last summer. She was an outstanding person.
We send our love and sympathy to her family.

My GREAT Aunt Melba was one of the greatest influences in my life. A woman of her time. She helped me to look at life more objectively and consider others in a more loving matter. Aunt Melba was a thoughtful and critical thinker, she shared her insights with me and helped me become a better thinker and writer. Oh, how blessed I am to have had her in my life. Being around her was like a refreshing breeze on a warm summer day. She was truly a gift, a treasure. Always a welcoming presence. I will always love her and I will miss her the rest of my life.

My Mother Noma served with Melba in church callings and in the PTA. She was my Sunday School teacher at one time and certainly knew the scriptures well. She was an excellent teacher and a lovely person. May you have the Spirit of peace to comfort you.

I have special memories of Melba and Harrell when I lived in Shoshone in the '50's. Melba was a great community servant, as he story indicates. I recall meeting Senator (to be) and Bethine Church in Harrell and Melba's home in 1956. What a memorable occasion now, looking back. Then I saw Melba and Harrell again in the 2000's at a wedding reception in Boise. Melba was "the same" wonderful person I remembered from over 40 years before. My condolences to the family, with great appreciation.

Hi Thorne Family,
I learned from Jim (via Cousin Steve) that Aunt Melba died. Because Jill and I were close as kiddos, I came to know her well and was always impressed with her many accomplishments and her extraordinary attention to detail. She was a talented community leader.
Much more recently she became important again as we exchanged long Christmas letters for the past 4-5 years. Her 2013 letter sits next to me at this very moment. It has news of all the family, and I do mean all. I would like to make some cousin contact. I know where Jill is but that's all; Jim mentions Steve from time to time; and I wonder about Marilyn more often than she could imagine.
Blessings everyone. May our Lord of love wrap His arms around you and give you peace as you remember.
