He was Major Corbell when I knew him at Mountain Home AFB. I was new to the Air Force and enlisted. Not someone many with the Major's credentials would ever give the time of day. The Major was the exception. He was friendly, honest and always lead by giving directions rather than orders. He also had a wonderful sense of humor. He would honestly laugh at the teasing we gave him about breaking his ankle playing basketball with the kids. "You may be a great fighter jockey but in basketball with 8 year olds you're playing out of you're league".

Some of the warmth went out of the world when he died. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

My sincere condolences to the Corbell family. I had the honor to have flown with Bob, as his "Back-Seater", while assigned to the 62nd TRS, Shaw AFB, SC in the early '70s when he was our Maintenance Officer.

I even remember then telling him that his surname meant "beautiful heart" in Italian. And indeed, he had one and everyone appreciated it. I did!

I celebrate his life and am gratelful for the privilege of sharing a part of my life with his.

Sincerely,
V. Frank Colangelo

Dad, you have always been and will always be my hero. Words can't express how much I love you and will miss you, however, I know you are waiting for me. You are the best man I have ever known. Love you.

Grandpa, you were one of the best men on this earth; I learned so much from you about love, integrity, perseverance, and hard work. I will love and miss you always.
