I would like to add one very important aspect of Sheryl's life, her deep & sincere love of horses. Since she was a child Sheryl was intrigued with the beauty & gracefulness of horses. As her little sister, I was able to witness the endless hours Sheryl spent drawing horses,& whether galloping or lying in the tall pasture grasses, she definitely had an innate ability for recreating them perfectly on paper. Sheryl longed for a horse of her own her entire life, and finally a few shorts years ago her dream came true when she was able to acquire Sundae. Although Sheryl had already begun her battle with cancer, this didn't stop her from taking riding lessons and being totally devoted to the love and care of her new friend. In June of 2011, we were able to watch Sheryl utterly absorbed in blissfulness as Sundae was photographed by a professional. Sundae showed off beautifully for Sheryl. As Debi Moon phrased it: "this was taken 1 year ago, and it was one of the most perfect days ever, her 18 yr old horse got out and ran for her like a purebred filly, people coming from around the arena to watch, pictures flashing. God gave Sheryl such a special day with her horse, and last week Sheryl gave him to a 16 yr old boy who will adore and love her forever...that's my sis!!!" You can see the love in Sheryl's eyes in the picture as she spoke softly to her horse, and we could sense the mutual adoration between the two.
