Gladys M. Archer 1929-2015
86 of Canal Fulton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 in Jupiter, Fla. Born on March 8, 1929 in Fulda, Ohio to the late Albert and Ida (Arnold) Crock. She had been a Stark Co. resident for the past 64 years. Gladys was a member of SS. Philip and James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton, Altar and Rosary Society, worked for Massillon City Hospital for over 25 years, sang with the Sweet Adelines for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by husband of 64 years Herbert Archer whom she married July 30, 1949; sisters, Irene Dalton, Vera Sorg, Ruth Kuhn and brother Ronald Crock. She is survived by sons, Thomas (Martha) Archer of Denver, Colo., David Archer of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Jeffery Archer of Denver, Colo., Michael (Kathleen) Archer of Summerfield, Ohio; daughters Dianne Cirone of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Sandra (Timothy) Linnan of Jupiter, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Laverne King of Cleveland, Ohio, Joanne (Bob) Smithberger of Pataskala, Ohio and sister-in-law, Betty Crock of Pickerington, Ohio and brother-in-law, Lawrence Kuhn of Caldwell, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held SATURDAY, Oct. 31, 2015, 10a.m., at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. N, Canal Fulton, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey, celebrant. Calling Hours FRIDAY, 4p.m. to 7p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church Cemetery, Carlisle, OH. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SS. Philip and James Catholic Church.
