Coite Clodfelter KANNAPOLIS Mr. Coite Neil Clodfelter, 80, of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Iredell County, son of the late Coite and Jessie Clodfelter. Mr. Clodfelter was employed by Cannon Mills, retiring in 1994 with 50 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. He had served in the U.S. Army Rangers as a TSgt. during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Martha Smith Clodfelter, of the home; one sister, Floranne (Don) McDaniel, of Kannapolis; and one brother, Carrol (Carolyn) Clodfelter, of Wilmington. Nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord conducted by the Rev. Kristy Burnette. The family received friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers or food, memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
