I am deeply saddened to hear of James' passing-He and I were great pals in High School, and had a lot of good times together. I learned of his passing thru one of the guys pictured in the photo I included. Needless to say, I will be keeping his family in my prayers, and I know God will be with them all at this sad time. I have not seen James since 1949, but his memory is still with me,and he looks the same as when we were boys.
Sincerely,
James H. "Jimmy" Yandle

To Betty and family, I didn't realize how much I missed Jimmy's sense of humor and warmth, until I read of his passing... we worked together at CMUD for all the years he worked there... I helped him with the wiring of your home at the beach... Pam and our family really enjoyed the week he gave us as a 'payment'... he was a good man... and a good friend... our condolences, and I know folks will miss his warm personality and smile... Dear Betty Sue, Deanna & Doug, Tammy & Tommy, Haley & Jake,

My heart hurts and my side hurts when I think of “Jim Bird” today. In third grade when I met Deanna I also got to know “Jim Bird.” I knew he was special right off the bat. He had an infectious smile and laugh. When he did his “crazy” walk I would laugh so hard I cried and my side hurt from the pain. That just egged him on because he kept doing it. He had a joy for living, integrity, and a kind genuine spirit that was undeniable. He was one of those people with a love of life that when you met him it resonated with you. It did with me. He was kind when I was down, and he just couldn't help it but he found a way to lift you up. I don't know, because I'm not there but something tells me he has the angels in heaven laughing their wings off. I know he said he can't do that “crazy walk” anymore but I bet God let him showcase it one more time and heaven lit up at the sight. After all it was a special gift, one of many, and so was he. I feel you have a new angel on your side now and there will be many more gifts from heaven. We just have to smile with our eyes, laugh with our hearts, and love with our souls...and we keep a little bit of “Jim Bird” with us. He was special to me...and the truth is welcomed in heaven.

We've all heard that heaven is a really GREAT place but I believe its just a little bit better today!

Love Debbie

Mrs. Connell, Deanna and Tammy,
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Connell's passing. My sister, Amy Davis Abernathy, let me know of your loss. It is always hard to lose a loved one, but time does help with the pain of loss. I wanted to send my condolences to your family.

Dear Betty, Deanna and Tammy - I am so saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing. It's only been two months since I saw him last at Frank's funeral. I will always remember fondly and cherish the friendship our two families shared with the Hogge's for decades. I will keep you in my prayers.
