James "Jim" Harrington CONCORD Mr James "Jim' David Harrington, 64, passed away, at the VA Hospice House, Salisbury. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 11 to 12 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home. The Funeral will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Bartley officiating. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The remainder of the time the family will be at 2432 Applegate Dr., Concord. Mr. Harrington was born, July 24, 1948, in Cabarrus County, son of Autie Mae Greene Harrington, of Concord, and the late Roy Wilson Sr. He previously worked at Duke Power, was a U.S. Army veteran, and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Myrtle "Beach" Harvell Harrington; daughters, Barbara, and Sheila; stepchildren, Crystal Layton, of Mt. Pleasant, and John Tarlton Jr., of Concord; grandchildren, David and Amber Layton; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Harrington Lewis, and Janet Harrington Harrison, both of Concord; and brother, Roy Wilson Harrington Jr., of Concord. Memorials may be made to the VA Medical Center, Hospice Unit, 1601 Brenner Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144. Condolences may be left at wilkinsonfuneral home.com. Wilkinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
