Christian Zane Hollister, age 18, of Bethlehem, formerly of Meshoppen, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 13, 2017.
Christian was born on November 11, 1998, in Tunkhannock, the son of Jonathan Hollister and Daniela Canfield Hollister.
He was a young man with a huge heart, he would help anyone if need be and loved anyone who came into contact with him. He loved all sports growing up but he especially enjoyed basketball with his younger brother.
He liked watching television and his favorite shows were Shameless and The Walking Dead. He also liked playing video games in particular zombies on Call of Duty.
Christian also enjoyed going fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved to hang out with his friends and loved spending time with his family.
Christian is survived by his parents Jonathan Hollister of Tunkhannock, and Daniela Hollister of Bethlehem; his siblings Alyssa Hollister of Myo Beach; Cody Hollister of San Diego, Calif.; Cameron Hollister of Uniondale; paternal grandmother Bonnie LaCount of Birchardville; and maternal grandfather Dennis Canfield of Jackson.
Also surviving is his uncle Dennis J. Canfield of Uniondale; aunts, Jennifer Hollister of Meshoppen, Mary Penny (Wallace) of Hop Bottom, Crystal Hollister of Springville; friend, Jeremy Torres; and many cousins and other family members as well.
Christian was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Dayton Hollister; maternal grandmother Lorraine Canfield; and paternal great grandfather, William Fassett.
A memorial service for Christian will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 6 p.m., at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, with Reverend Charles Bishop of the Elk Lake and Transue Community Churches officiating. Family and friends may attend calling hours at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to A Better Today, C/O Tunkhannock Location, 1339 North Main Avenue, Scranton, PA 18508.
