Rest in Peace big Jim, you were an amazingly brave and inspirational man who gave so much to so many. You will be remembered by not only those young people you helped and inspired, the fans who watched you play, but to the thousands who you touched with your honesty and bravery.

Dear Jim,
As a footballer you were a champion, as a father and a man your an inspiration. Even on the day of your death you reached out and touched me. The next day I decided to see a doctor and six days later was diagnosed with cancer and on the operating table. I have a fight ahead of me, however if not for you I would still not know. Thank you Jim and rest in peace.

Jim,I have being mesmerized but not surprised at yr tenacity to try and kill those aliens within yr body and damn did they have a fight cos this big, gentle Irishman wasn't just going to let them get the better of u on their terms. U thought them longer than they had inticipated but always with dignity & a smile, Although the Irish mite have lame jokes but they r mentally tuff. God bless yr fam
