Aileen "Bobbie" Robison
passed from this life on May 16, 2014 at her home in rural Greenwood. Bobbie was the wife of Robert "Bob" L. Robison and mother to Charles Robison (Deceased); Lee Robison (Shari) of Sarasota, FL; Steve Robison (Brenda) of Ephrata, PA; David Robison (Sally) of Winona Lake, IN; Jim Robison (Cheryl) of Greenwood and Don Robison (Julie) of Greenwood. She also had 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren with one more to be born this summer.
Bobbie was born September 10, 1930 in Manhattan, NY as the youngest of three daughters born to Charles "Chuck" and Kathleen Campbell. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Eleanor.
Bob and Bobbie were married for nearly 66 years after meeting in California when Bob was in the Marine Corp. and stationed at Camp Pendleton, after returning from China in WW II. After their marriage on July 4, 1948, in Lakewood Village, CA, they moved to rural New Washington, IN; and eventually settled near Greenwood. Bob was a research scientist at Eli Lilly for 40 years and a farmer.
Bobbie helped on the farm, but her most valuable contribution was in her being a wonderful wife and a loving influence in raising their sons. She and Bob continued to hold hands and to kiss each other daily. Bobbie was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother…often being their biggest "cheerleader". She also was very active in the nursery department at Greenwood Christian Church, helping with the children and often babysitting the children of others. Her five sons are all active in their churches and love the Lord.
Bobbie loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She often would "Talk" to the farm animals too, rubbing them behind the ears.
Though Bobbie was raised with the disadvantages of not being able to hear well and having poor vision as a child, she didn't give up; she learned to compensate by reading lips; often still doing that even after receiving hearing aids.
She loved music and had great rhythm…She enjoyed singing and dancing. Her father was a professional trombonist, having played in bands with Red Nichols, Tommy Dorsey and others. He also recorded in studios in New York and Los Angeles, including some Disney soundtracks in his studio portfolio.
Bobbie became an avid reader, having read 1,000's of books; often reading Christian and historical books, as well as books by Eugenia Price.
Bobbie was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was dedicated to God, her family and to her friends.
