I was saddened today to hear of Greg's passing. Greg was a true friend and roommate during our years at Ball State, a man who was always there for you. Our lives have gone separate ways over the years, but he will never be forgotten.

I just read of the passing of my good college friend Greg in the Ball State Alumnus. I am so sorry. Although I have not been in contact with him for several years, I still cherish the times we spent together at Ball State. Greg stood up in my wedding in 1978. I have uploaded a picture of Greg and his wife Dana on August 26, 1978.
Missing you more and more everyday! You will always be with us in our hearts and I am so thankful that you are watching over us. You are the best father a girl could have. So blessed to call you Daddy. I love you so much and may never know why you had to leave so soon. My heart breaks knowing that those babies are missing their Popper. You are truly amazing! Thinking of you always! I love you!!

We miss you, dear friend, but know you are in God's hands. My prayers and condolences go out to Dan, Matt, and Cara. Greg was a great friend to all.
Dear Willie and family,
I am deeply saddened of the news of Greg. We have known each other almost all of our lives. I think of all the good and bad things we did growing up. He was truly a generous, kind and loving man. RIP Greg, you will never be forgotten. I love all of you and you are all in my prayers.
Today we have another guardian angel on our side. Today we will honor Greg Townsed AKA “Poppers”. I know he was loved by so many. We are all very blessed to have been a part of his life and will miss him.
* May strength and peace be with you today and always Cara Townsend, Matt Townsend and Dana Townsend
Ron and I were in such a shock that it was a long time before it sunk in. Greg was a sweet, silly, loving guy who had a hug for everyone. Dana, please know we are thinking of you and your family and Greg's mother and her family. Just can't get the good times out of our heads and surely don't want to. He will always be remembered with a smile on our faces. Bet he has already organized a GWRRA gang and riding a new red fully dressed out bike. He will continue being Greg--giving, loving, joking and respecting everyone. No matter where he is. You will be greatly missed. Our only regret is that we are in Florida and will not be there. Just know that we are supporting you from afar and our prayers go out to all. Dana, you already know all of those who will miss him. Try to take comfort in knowing any of us will be there after just a phone call. Take all of the hugs given and think of them as Greg holding you to comfort you. We love you and loved Greg. His family has a great legacy to draw from and should always be proud to walk in his shoes.
Greg, Matt and Jesse were a Great team together!! If Greg said the job would be done on time with Jesse and Matt's help is was taken care of! What a wonderful man to do business with!! He will be missed and what a gift that Matt got to work with his dad every day!! There are not many father/ son teams in business today!! Prayers for Greg's business and family! He was always a pleasure to work with!! David Miller from Integrity and Fineline Printing
Greg was a teacher of mine at Lawrence North and I have also had the pleasure of working with him through iiimpressions for almost 20 years. He was a great person to know and will be deeply missed by all who knew him!
Willie, Leslie and all of the Townsend Family,
I am so very sorry and want you all to know that my prayers are with all of you. I can remember Greg when we were all so young and I can picture him and Rick coming by the print shop when I worked there for a short time and they would tease me. I also remember Job' Daughter dances. Way back in the good old days.
I am sorry I am out of town and will not be able to attend.
Peace and Prayers be with all of you in your time of need!

Greg enriched our lives and made us better people just by being himself - gregarious, generous, kind and loving. There is a hole in our hearts. Barbara and I can't put into words our sorrow for Dana, his family and friends and those who will never have the pleasure of knowing him.
Dana, Cara, Matt and family; my heart aches. There are no words I can say to describe the pain/sadness.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and know I'm here for you in any-every way!
I love you all and will miss Popper very much.
Greg was such a kind sweet man, he was a hero to our nephew, and many youth that he so cared about. Greg lived his faith outloud everyday, he set the standard! Praying Dana and family be comforted in knowing they will all be reunited someday. Blessings.
Can you just see Mike and Kenny at heaven's gate in Black ties, tux shirts and jackets with tails, their tan shorts showing their skinny white legs, ready to welcome their buddy Greg to heaven. One day they'll welcome us, maybe in Santa suits or dressed for the Nativity, but definitely wearing those great big smiles. Until then we'll share our memories, multiply our joys, divide our sorrows and love each other. Prayers for all of Greg's family in this time of heartbreak.
As I set here with a pain so sharp in my heart , I think back when my husband and I met Greg. Spring Wing Greenfield In 2010 , and the ride began,, and what I fabulas ride! I can not say goodbye only keep a place for our trike. We Love You

I was so grateful to have Popper introduced to me a few years ago. He was an awesome guy and always had a smile on his face. He and his wonderful wife Dana quickly became our family as their daughter Cara married my brother Adam. In the short time I knew Popper, he was an amazing father, grandfather to Braedan and Lydia, husband, brother and son. The world has suffered a terrible loss but I am all the better for having met Greg. Rest in peace and lots of love
Greg was awesome and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. I haven't seen Greg regularly in the past few years, but every time I ran into him, he always had a hug and a smile to share. I have no doubt he and dad have met up and are already goofing around up there. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time.
