Robin and I had the priviledge of seeing Mr. Brubeck a few years ago at Berklee. He was 88. We felt so fortunate to be in the same room as a living legend. He shuffled out on stage so feebly and needed help to sit at his piano. I was sad and nervous for him, not knowing what I'd hear. Then he started to play. he brought tears to our eyes. It was as if once he touched the keys, he was 40 again and he BLEW the place away. A truly remarkable and moving experience. Such an important person in our history. Take Five sir.

R.I.P., dear sir and GOD be with you. You'll be missed. I found your music otherwordly, and it inspired me to pursue my own career in music...

Your music brought a lot of joy to my life. And thanks for helping to make the world a more civilized place, on so many levels.

I heard 'Take Five' before age ten on the family HiFi. My Dad was a jazz pianist also; the vinyl was his (now mine). A magical and defining moment . The Brubeck notes are woven into the fabric of my life. The notes of 'You'll Never Know' from Indian Summer play as I tap this note. Though you have left us, your music is forever. Thanks Dave.
