My sympathies to the entire Raesly family. Although I met him once in 1985, it was clear that he was a loving man and father and will be missed. His loving and caring traits were obviously passed on to his decendents, one of whom I had the great pleasure to know and serve with, so I know you must all be saddened.

I am so sorry. I am just now seeing this. I tried to call Dick today but found the number was disconnected. I always try to call Dick every year just before Christmas so I could thank him again for taking care of me and my wife back when we were just getting started. As a fresh new airmen in 1984, Dick took me under his wing and not only showed me the ropes but he became an instant friend. He was a true friend in that he cared for those around him. Many times he would help us and make us feel at home. It was his example that I used to take care of my own men and women assigned to me during my 26 year career in the Air Force. Because of him and his example, he lifted me up on his shoulders so I could achieve Chief Master Sergeant. Thank you Dick for all you did. You were indeed a good and faithful servant. I will miss you deeply. Mary and I will never forget you. Don McCloud, 615-430-9781. I would love to hear from his son if possible.

Pop pop was a role model to any. The world is weakened by losing such a true person. It was refreshing to speak with Pop pop because he wasn't indecisive. He stuck to his guns and told you exactly how he believed things should be. All I could do is learn from such a hard working wise man. What I value most from Pop pop is how he always did what was right. He knew how to treat people individually in a way that they would grow most. Sometimes I wish our relationship would have been more dramatic but it was just two guys talking about their hobbies hunting, fishing, and sports. I guess he was more of a friend than a disciplinary elder. I will always respect him and what he stood for.

So many memories fly through my mind. Most of them are words of wisdom and free lessons you taught me. These are things you had to experience first. I will always be thankful. So many road trips and outings. Hiring me at your job to be your assistant out of your own pocket, very cool. He men toys. Breakfast outings. Sunday donuts. Teaching me to be a marksman aiming with both eyes opened awesome stuff.I have so much to say but I can never say it all. You will never be gone truly. I hope someday I can become even a quarter of the man you were. Most responsible, disciplined man I have ever known.
