When I think of Bobby I can hear his gruff voice calling out to me, “Hey boy!” I immediately go back to a six year old child, quietly pouting and wondering, “doesn't he know I am a girl?!”
Bobby's humor and quick wit, though I didn't understand it at first, was his way of showing how much he cared. I will never forget our back and forth “hey boy” “hey girl” banter, followed by rolled eyes and tongues sticking out and laughter, even on his last day. These occasions, and so many more, have left an indelible impression on my heart and in my mind. He will be missed.
To my cousins, may the peace of Christ be with you always. And may the arms that welcomed Bobby into heaven, comfort you as your mourn his loss.
