Not sure what to say?

Words can't express how much I miss George. We were friends for close to 35 years. We will always have the Summer of '77 and the Southwest Little League City Bank team.

Remember to tell Coach Willard to save the catchers gear for me up there and I will see you on the other side my friend.

I love you man!

Unfortanetly I have lost touch with him over the years I have know him for about 22 years. He was a great guy who loved his daughter very much. We used to have so much fun at the hunt club. RIP George and Julia may god take your hurt away and replace it with the memories of your father. Helen you may not remember me but my heart goes out to you and Gary.

We will miss George so much. The fun times that we have shared will never be forgotten. I spent this past 4th of July weekend thinking of all the crazy and fun 4th of July's the past few years that we have spent together. Things like that will never be the same, but we feel so lucky that we had our time with George. The thing I think of most when I think of George is how he ALWAYS made us feel good and welcome when we spent time with George and Kim. Thanks for all the memories. Kim, George loved you very much. Hold onto that, and you will find the strength to stay strong.

I'm still in shock after reading of George's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing George for 17 years. He was a great friend, always had a smile on his face and never spoke a mean word about anyone. While his time on this earth was way too short, George touched many lives and will never be forgotten.

George,

Words wont do here. You are and will always be my friend and I have great memories that I will always remember.

From the times out at Portage and Clark Lake to the parties up on Loeser Street, it was always a good time.

Back in 2000, George sold me a car when he worked at the dealership. I told George I needed a car that would last. It's still running, just fine!! Thank you George.

On Behalf of my sisters, Margaret, C.C. and Ellen, I would like to express my deepest sympathies to George's family and loved ones. We met George through summer parks and rec back when Bloomfield playground was still Bloomfield school. Over the years my sisters and I, along with George and the other regulars that made up the Bloomfield crew, spent countless hours on those courts in all kinds of weather. The regulars were like an extended family to us and George was a major part of that family.

George, we need one to run. You will be missed.

GEO words can't express the the feelings and shock of your passing. You were an unbelievable son, father and most of all a great friend. I haven,t seen you as much the last few years since i moved to South Padre Island but your friendship was always there along with all the wonderful memories of all the great times we've shared together in years past. There is a reason you had so many friends that loved and adored you, most notably your gentlemanly manners, big smile and unique loving personality. You were always so happy to be around your friends and always had to greet us with a huge bear hug and liked to embarrass in public with a kiss. i could do without the kiss but GEO i'd give anything in the world right now for one of your big bear hugs to know that your still with us. You have left an incredible lasting impression on all of us that were a part of your brotherhood. you will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and all the wonderful memories of our get togethers and weekend getaways will be cherished forever. Our bachelor days when we were roommates on seventh st. in Jackson were some of the greatest times in my life.
To you Helen,
I couldn't imagine the pain your feeling with losing a son who loved and admired you so much. You were without a doubt his biggest inspiration and role model in life.
Julia,
You were your fathers brightest light and life and the best thing that ever happened to him. He will always be looking down and watching over you with great love and admiration.
I sure wish I could be there to celebrate George's life in this time of need but, it's nearly impossible for me to make it up there on this tragic occasion. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
In closing GEO, Rest In Peace my friend and when we meet again, I know you'll have a big bear hug waiting for me. God Bless You.

My heart goes out to Geo's family.
When I heard the news Monday of George's condition from my brother Andy, I couldn't believe it.We prayed for his healing. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Geo for many years through my brother Andy. He left such an impact on my kids. He treated them like another uncle. He always told them to mind their mother because she's a great lady. I will always treasure that! He was so good with kids. I know Julia was very lucky to have such a great dad, even though his time on earth was cut way too short.

I have many good memories to treasure of Geo. The skiing trips we took with my family & so many of Andy's friends, watching him play football with the Chargers, and the Bombers. The times he took my sons to the Lions games, going over to visit Andy when they were room mates, or just going out to eat.
The last memory I have of George is seeing him at the Beach Bar after Michael graduated from Lumen. He came over & congradulated him, gave him a big bear hug & played pool with us. He took out a picture of Julia just before we left and said, "Isn't she beautiful! I just love her so much!"
It was a great last memory!

"Thank you Lord for letting us share the wonderful times with Geo. He will be forever missed." "May God Bless his family & friends with love & guidance at this time of sorrow and May Geo's light shine down on all of us with his beautiful smile!!"
With All our Love in Christ,

June 12, 2009

While I have many fond memories of George and our childhood friendship from the pick up basketball and sand-lot baseball games at Bloomfield School and later Bloomfield Park, one in particular stands out more than others. During the the summer of '77 we were on that City Bank Little League team together. George was an excitable guy and during a game on Diamond #4 George was on second base with one out. I hit a home run and George was so excited that he forgot to touch home plate, we were both called out and the inning was over(Thanks to Randy Willard for posting the team photo, I am in the back row second from the right next to Big Tim Harris).

Some years later George and I were playing golf and while standing on the tee getting the bets right I put my best poker face on and said "George, I am so glad you played Football in college because Baseball is difficult to play when you can't find home plate." We laughed so hard that we had to let the group behind us tee off and then we laughed the rest of the day.

My good friend, let the waters take you home, and I'll see you at Diamond #4 up there, be sure to set aside the catchers gear for me buddy as we will always have that summer of '77.

To George's family; May the comfort of your memories make the pain of his passing a little easier to bear. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Your friend Gordon.
