Silence, Harry 8/21/1947 - 8/8/2018 Harry James Silence of Jackson, age 70, went to be with the Lord August 8, 2018 with his family by his side after a very lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; son, Jimmy and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Alma Walker. Harry is survived by Joanne, his loving wife of 43 years; children, John (Courtney) Silence, Steven (Jill) Silence and Kathy (Colin) Frost; grandchildren, Ben and Ryker Silence and Megan and Norman Frost; mother, Dorothy Silence; sisters, Nancy Nelson and Carol (Mike) Dyer; several nieces and nephews. Harry graduated from the University of Michigan with an engineering degree and furthered his education at Eastern Michigan University with a computer science degree. He retired from Consumer's Energy after 38 years of service. Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed traveling, camping and kayaking with his family. Harry and Joanne enjoyed attending Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, Florida while wintering in Florida. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 P.M. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake with Pastor Brandon Reynolds officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Grass Lake.
