Rudolph Rohde Obituary

Rohde, Rudolph "Rudy" Grass Lake, Michigan Age 90, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home. He was born November 25, 1924 in York Township, Michigan, the son of George & Matilda (Neebling) Rohde. Rudy attended Salem Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of Michigan Labor Union Local 503. In his younger years he worked as a farm hand on various farms. Rudy then went to work for Don & Warren Porath, the King Sealy Plant for 10 years, Paul Peltcs Construction, O'Hara Construction, and finally Manchester Stamping. He enjoyed farming and trapping for fur. On January 22, 1949, he married Elsie Peterson in the Parsonage at Salem Grove United Methodist Church, and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Donald (Donna) of Grass Lake, Randy (Becky) of Grass Lake; three brothers, Robert (Avalene), Alvin, and Larry(Carolyn); a grandson, Timothy (Katie); 3 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Allie, and Dylan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruben and Ernest. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 28, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Pastor Amy Triebwasser officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Waterloo, Michigan. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00pm. The family would like to thank Ashley and Eowyn from Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their care. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Grove United Methodist Church or Great Lakes Hospice.
