Bill was a great friend and always had time for a friendly round of golf, especially with his fellow Lions Club members. I think about him almost every day and mill his friendly smile.

Golfing at Lake LeAnn won't be the same without Bill - who was always there with a great smile and a sympathetic ear to my golfing woes. He was an institution. He is yet another great golfing friend who has left our world for the greener fairways of heaven. Our prayers go out to his family and the rest of his golfing friends. God Bless! John Cimock, Jackson

"Hold it there partner" is a phrase I will always remember Bill saying to me as I practiced my golf swing. Though it has been quite sometime since I last saw Bill he has always been and will continue to be a part of my golf game. My prayers go out to Rob and Carl,

My Thoughts And Prayers Go Out To To You All In This Time of Sadness And Loss!
As my Mind Goes Back, I Hardly Know Where To Begin...
Bill Was not Only a Fantastic Instructor...Which is Where Our Relationship First Began... He Became a Good Mentor and Friend as Well.
He Gave Back; Not Only to The Sport of Golf.. But To The Community in Which He Lived And Served As Well..
I Will Never Forget Playing an "Instructional" Round With He and Carl one evening when Carl was about 7...As I recall.. Carl Outplayed me Quite Handily, on All But the Longest Holes We Played!
Bill Was Loved and Respected By All Who Knew Him And Will Be Sorely Missed By All!

I honestly don't remember how old I was when I first started taking lessons from Bill. Maybe 7 or 8? Then 10 years later I had the privilege of teaching along side him (and I got to bartend!) with the girls. My favorite memory was teeing off on #3. He came up behind my mom and me very quietly and watched me. After a decent drive he said "What a swing!". I looked at him and said, "You taught me that". He will be very missed.

Bill Ross was my woodshop teacher at East Jr. High School. He was a Great teacher about wood working and life. I had not seen him in years until 2 years ago when I played his golf course. He did not remember my name, but he remembered me. What a Guy!!! God Bless Bill Ross.

Carl and family,
The decades pass so rapidly, it hard to believe that we first met over 40 years ago. We spent many memorable hours on golf courses, on the lesson tee, Chris' golf team girls getting lessons from Bill, the memories flood in. We will miss Bill as much as any of our own family members. He was one of a kind. His kind words were his standard. We will never forget him.

I taught with Bill most of the time he was at Jackson High School. He was a good teacher, friend and great Guy. I also remember the end of school outings at the golf course and the good times we had. I never golfed much but I did have a good time at the outing anyway. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family. Haven Hauser Pittsford MI.

Some of my earliest and most wonderful memories include Bill Ross in my hometown of Spencer, Iowa and at his golf course in Michigan.
He may have been my first connection to golf and for that I am most grateful. Remembering Bill now and thinking of his family and his many friends. Kay Brandsma LaFrance (Bozeman, MT)

He always made me do push-ups if I did not break 80 for 18 or 40 for 9 in high school matches while a woodshop student of his at Jackson High School. It was always on my mind while playing, best motivation I ever had. He was a great guy, I have not had to do a push-up since 1985. Gonna try to do one for Mr. Ross today.

Bill touched the lives of many, many people and helped shape even more young minds. He truely had a love affair with teaching, mentoring and making people feel good about themselves. You were always greeted with a warm smile and hearty hand-shake making you feel like, you were the first person he had a chance to greet all day! I learned many things from Bill and will always be greatful for all of them. My most sincere condolences to the entire family.

Carl, Neal and I are very saddened by Bill's passing. He was a big part of both of our lives and Neal thought of Bill as a second Dad. He was always asking about me when I was going through my treatments. May you be comforted that Bill was loved by so many people.
