As a 8 yr old girl growing up in Wichita,Ks. Gunsmoke was a family favorite that was never missed. One of my most cherished and memorable summer vacations of my youth was spent going to Dodge City Days in Dodge City, KS.
I just knew that Marshall Dillon would be there. I had waited all day looking for him, of course he did not show up.
It was okay. I knew his heart was there. Gods blessings on each and everyone of the Arness family as you go thru this difficult time. Thank you for sharing him with us all those years, he will be missed.

All in my family loved this show, and the man. He exhumed integrity & morals. A very clean wholesome show. Today, my husband watches the reruns every afternoon. Hope he will meet us at the gates of Heaven when we arrive.

James Arness was one of my two or three favorite television actors of all time. He, Amanda Blake, Miburn Stone and Ken Curtis were all very talented individuals who together made for an incredible television show. My condolences to his family and to those who knew him personally. He will be missed.

Mr. James Arness, we are going to miss you. May the Lord bless you. Our condolences to his family. Number one show for me was "Gunsmoke" then as a child and still is at the present.
