Tracy, I was at my 39th class reunion in Narrows last weekend and learned that it was your son that was killed in the VT shooting. I'm so, so sorry and I feel so sad for you and your family. I was Janet Herd in high school. I taught baton and you took lessons from me. I hope you remember me. Know I'm lifting you and your family up in prayer daily. I have two sons and I can't even imagine what this must be like. I'd love to hear from you if you read this and have a chance to write. My email is colonialgallery@verizon.net. Love and prayers, Janet Herd Roberts

You were my neighbor during your summer session, the summer session before your freshman year. We weren't close, but I remember hanging out with you. Getting a couple meals together. Playing volleyball outside of Vawter Hall. I didn't recognize your name when the names were released, since it had been about 4 years since that summer where we met. I didn't realize you were gone until visiting a website memorial for the victims of the shootings that included pictures. It hurt knowing you were one of the ones who fell victim to the tragedy. I hope that if there is a Heaven, you are there and you are at peace.

By a twist of fate and the hand of an awesome and mighty God I had the honor and priviledge of meeting Jarrett's mother and grandmother this evening for the first time. After several minutes and many tears being shed, Jarrett's grandmother encouraged me to "keep praying" for them and I promise you I will.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. With the deapest of sympathy for your loss.

The mother has great courage and fortitude, I too am a single mom raising two boys and it isn't always easy. Your mom has shown great strength every day after losing you Jarrett. Look over her and keep her going!! I read her story about a week ago and it filled my heart with saddness for her and for you. We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers!

After reading Whitney Cruz's addition to the guest book,(taking picture of the sunset from the top of his house) I feel she can be happy in knowing that Jarrett is seeing more beautiful things in the heavens and sharing with God. I think of his family often in their loss. My family still lives in Narrows and knew Jarrett and his family..God Bless all of them.
