Judy was my great Aunt and I was around 7 when she died but I remember a lot about her, she was kind and funny and would help my Great Grandma read our lips when she couldn't hear us. I remember she had boxes full of beanie babies and she would always let me and my sister Gwen play with them I miss her a lot and I hope she knows I love her. Love Ellen Nixon

Aunt Ethel, family, and friends,
I haven't seen my cousin Judy since we were very young. What I remember most is her beautiful smile and cheerful personality. Reading the wonderful guest book messages, I see that she did not change over the years. She made a difference in many people's lives. Greg, I'm so glad you were part of her life.

What love Judy shared here on earth. May all her smiles and hugs be a comfort to her family and friends who miss her here on earth. Asking God to give you comfort in this difficult time. We never want to let the ones we love go to heaven, but you better believe when Judy saw Mary and her two brothers in heaven, her smile and hugs were alive again.

Dear friends and family of Judy!
Few, if any you, will know me, but Judy played an indispensable role in my life, and I owe her a debt that I cannot repay. I am eternally grateful for what she did for me 33 years ago.
I met Judy many years ago, while both of us were in a different world. I was a 16 year old kid who had just lost his father. Out of anger (I guess), I was living in complete rebellion. I dropped out of high school in the tenth grade. In 1982, almost immediately after she found out that I had dropped out of school, Judy began nagging me to get my GED. She literally, would not stop nagging me. If she said it once, she said it a thousand times, You are going to need it someday. Defiantly, I continued telling her that she was nuts, and that I did not need a stupid diploma. However, her nagging continued, and I eventually broke. Just to shut her up, I agreed to get my GED. She helped me all the way along. She went with me to the school for the first time, and she personally tutored me for close to a year. She spent almost every evening for a year tutoring me. In 1983, I took my test, and I received my GED. I stuck it in a drawer and forgot about it. To me it was useless. I was happy knowing that I did not have to listen to her nag me anymore.
Ten years later, the Lord Jesus Christ found me, and He called me to be a minister of His glorious gospel, and guess what, in order to satisfy the educational requirements I had to go back to school, and in order to do that, I need a high school diploma or a GED. Thanks to Judy's nagging, I had one. I went through the educational requirements and was ordained. I found out that I actually enjoyed learning, so I began pursuing a bachelor's degree. Today, I am half way through a master of divinity program.
Had it not been for Judy, I, literally, would not be where I am today. I know, had I have had to go back and get my GED before I could pursue ministerial credentials and college degrees, I would not have done it. It would have been too much to tackle. I thank God regularly for Judy's foresight (I literally do. I do not just flippantly say that). Her compassion, and willingness to hold my hand, as a troubled kid, and tutor me until I was finished will never be forgotten.
About two years ago, I contacted Judy, via facebook (as I am now pastoring in Oklahoma), and thanked her for all that she had done for me. She responded, very humbly, by saying, You were always a good kid. She completely deferred her vital role in my life.
I had every intention of contacting her again, and asking for her honored presence at my graduation in August of 2017. Unfortunately, this tragedy prevents that from happening. Therefore, I am going to dedicate this degree to Judy. I will finish it, and accept it in her honor.
