Another holiday here and gone...And so Memorial Day had me thinking back to us growing up and remembering the fun things I had forgotten about my childhood. In case nobody knew here's a few things about my Big brother. In my early years we lived near downtown Lafayette and I can remember he and I walking to the movies, the one I remember most was King Kong and it became a favorite of mine after that. While living in Medaryville as a preteen he loved to play red rover..though nobody in town would challenge him, we all knew you'd never get threw him and we picked on the little kids in the neighborhood instead. Another favorite past time of his was going to the big grave yard in town after dark to run and scare any kid who thought they were brave enough to be there..And I admit he got me more than once. We would all then go home and I remember we would have double decker peanut butter sandwiches (his invention) and we'd watch Sammy Terry. Another memory was how he would walk home down the highway everyday after football practice just so he could be on the team. Bob's goolash was a regular meal in our house and it usually tasted pretty good. I remember watching him build model cars another favorite hobby of his. He usually did ones like the cars he had owned or wanted to own..but I was especially fond of the little white Fiero.
Music..oh yes, of course there was always music...we all knew he loved his music..but I can remember him hanging out at the disco downtown ..I know it sounds funny but he was a GREAT dancer...And I'll never forget how he had "borrowed" a couple of speakers from the drive-in theater to hang out of his car for everyone to hear! The car was an old Chevy impala everyone had painted their name on...These are just a few of the reasons why I knew I had the best brother ever! Nothing foo foo..he was who he was..he loved life and it showed. I miss him and his goofy ways....

Thanks for the memories brother..I will never forget them.
