Jeff spoke at our company's user conference a few years back, and I will never forget his ending remarks..."Never let a moment go by without telling your loved ones how much they mean to you." Within minutes, people were on their cell phones reaching out to loved ones. That hour he spoke made an impact on my life..and even now in this sadness ...he is making an impact on others as we remember how he touched our lives (even if we only new him from a book we read or a speech we heard). My deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones. Find comfort through prayer in God who will carry you through.

I have begun reading "The Magic Room," having read some of Jeffrey Zaslow's previous books. It was on my to-read list, but now there's a new sense of urgency to reading it, an even greater poignancy to words that are already life-giving and life-affirming. On the first page, he writes, "They know the losses that define life." I'm sure he could not have ever imagined that this particular loss would come so soon after this book was published.

To his daughters and his wife, it is heartbreaking to me--as the mother of two daughters, one a newlywed--that he will never have the chance to "someday, perhaps, be a father of a bride" with his physical presence, arm in arm with each of you. But this book--his true legacy--stands as a living reminder of how much he loved all of you. My condolences to your family as you mourn the loss of your beloved father, husband and gift to the world through his words.
