I remember Jim Northrup and the 1968 World Series Champs. I'm from Maine but lived in Michigan from 1966 - 1968 and learned to love baseball watching the Tigers play. After I came back to Maine...I obviously became a Red Sox fan...but my love of baseball goes back to the 1966 - 1968 Detroit Tigers. Jim Northrup was a great player and it is sad to see him go. God rest his soul.

As a young boy living in Binghamton NY, I never got to watch my Detroit Tigers play often. However, I will never forget watching the Tigers play the O's in 1972 on the Saturday Game of the Week and seeing Jim Northrup climbing the left field fence at Tiger stadium to take a home run away and giving Mickey Lolich the victory!
The Gray Fox was one of my favorite Tigers - rest in peace.
