A tiny black and white 50's tv brought Joe's emotion into my heart. He was truly one of a kind. What a voice. 40 years after I first saw Joe on Lawrence Welk, I found myself playing in the orchestra for a tour of the Lawrence Welk All-Stars. It was a thrill for me to discover that Joe's personality was just as I would have assumed from seeing him on Tv. His voice will never die.

I'm watching Lawrence Welk right now with my 7 year old daughter as I always did as a child. My mother, Glenneta Bettis (maiden name) always told me Joe Feeney was her cousin. I'm assuming he was related to my grandmother, Gertrude Feeney (maiden name) Bettis. He does look an awful lot like my grandma's side of the family. My mom passed away 20 years ago so I can't ask her exactly how they were related but it's bringing back some fun memories to watch this with my daughter. Thanks for the memories... Nora Hayes

I was turning the channel and noticed an old L W show on PBS and immediately thought of Joe Feeney. My parents wanted the show for years and every time Joe would appear (and delight) my mother (still alive and well at 97) would exclaim: "I can't believe how much he looks like Henry Feeney"! My mother's grandmother was a Feeney from Massachusetts & RI. She always felt he was a relative given the eyes, expression, features and everything. Relative or not, he was greatly beloved by all. "My the good Lord hold him in the hollow of his hand".

We have enjoyed Joe's voice so much. We looked forward to hearing him every Saturday night on Lawrence Welk. We especially loved to hear him sing "Danny Boy". We will always remember him and we send our condolences and deepest sympathy. Sincerely,

Just saw this guest book and want to say that I had lunch with Joe at KABC in the late 60s and Joe talked with love all thru lunch about his wonderful family. I never forgot that.
