To Joel's family, military family and friends...please accept my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you all. As the mother of a soldier about to deploy to Kandahar next month I know that our men and women in the military believe in what they are doing and we believe in them. At this time, there is not a lot anyone can say to comfort you but never lose sight of the fact that Joel died a hero, doing something he believed in. He will always be remembered.

So young and with so much promise Pte Joel V Wiebe chose soldiering as a way to express his beliefs. In doing so he showed the greatness our country holds and the willingness of Cdns to help those in need. In his loss we have seen what true dedication is and all will hold his memory in our hearts knowing his life had great meaning and purpose. May God be with all who know him and give each solace and understanding to deal with his death.
