God Bless men like Joel... Thank you Sherry & Family for sharing your wonderful son, brother , uncle and friend with us. The gift of love for others and courage to stand up for freedom is something you all should be so proud of. Sherry you raised a wonderful son.. be proud, I know the tears fall, pain stays and hurt never goes away but the wonderful memories come every minute with a small smile followed by a sharpe pain.... I too lost a son at 19 years old and understand the hurt.....Joel will always be remembered by those who loved and knew him and those who did not have the chance too... what an honor for you ... be strong... don't forget he gave his life for what he loved..... you and your family...
God Bless.

I found this inuit proverb that has given me comfort.
“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”
I miss Joel so much. I dont think I will ever fully understand he is gone forever, all I know is every now and then a great sadness creeps into my heart, and I remember. Then I am filled with great memories of my childhood friend,my first kiss and a man turned into a hero. Thanks Joel. We all miss and love you

We are doing a tribute to all the soldiers that have died in the war and we each get names to represent people and I am representing Joel Wiebe. I am so sorry for everyone that has suffered from this loss and I am truly honoured to be representing what was said to be "the happpiest man in NATO". I just want to let you know we, as Canadians, will never forget what the soldiers are doing for us.
