My wife and I had the honor of meeting Jack and his wife on the 2004 D-Day to the Rhine tour. At 82 he was still full of the vim and vigorish that made him such an outstanding member of the Filthy Thirteen. The picture I took of him with my wife is a treasured momento. We use the word hero too loosely these days. It should be reserved for people like Jack, who laid it on the line for all of us. God's blessings on the whole family.
