For John and your family.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Murtha and the Family.

It was my pleasure to have met Congressman Murtha at an event for Congressman Jim Moran a number of years ago. I always admired Mr. Murtha and followed his years of Congressional service.

Many members of my family, including my cousin, Charlie Horner, have served in the military and Congressman Murtha always thought about our veterans. The last time that I saw Congressman and Mrs. Murtha was on September 22, 2009, at Post Chapel at Fort Myer for the funeral service of my Aunt Joan (Horner).

Duty, Honor, and Country were the guiding principles of Congressman Murtha.

My deepest sympathies,

Margo Horner

Dear Mrs. Murtha and family,

My deepest and most sincere sympathy to you and your family. The Congressman had given my brother(Mike Lauf)a start when he had graduated from college. He learned a great deal from your husband and has gone on to do good things in his own life. He has always stated "I will never forget what Mr. Murtha had done for me as a young man." My brother listened to his words that "we are put on this earth to make a difference." Your husband certainly lived by his word and with that made such a difference in the districts he represented. As a member of WPC I had the honor of attending the funeral service for this great man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. May you hold forever in your hearts those cherished memories. He lived by his word...he made a difference!! May God Bless you all. Barbie Lauf-Maxwell

Dear Mrs. Murtha & Family,

As you know, we had the honor of working several years for Jack and all the Democrats in the Paint Twp. #1 voting District, and it was truly a priviledge to serve him. No matter how many workers or volunteers he had, he amazingly remembered their names and addressed them personally! Always willing to go the extra mile or take a different and sometimes daring approach to solve a problem, were just two of his many strengths. NO, was not in his vocabulary when it came to helping one of his fellow Vets. When no one else would help,he would always try his best to get things done. Jack will never be forgotten by those who were blessed to have known him! Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We owe you and your children a heartfelt thank you for sharing your husband and father with everyone!
God Bless.

Dear Joyce:

I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Shortly after starting to work for the Congressman in 1965 a Fortune Teller had told me I would being working for one of the most powerfull men in the Country. I never knew back then how true her words would be. The past 45 years of working for him have been an experience I will never forget. He really did make a difference.
