Mr. Payton was a phenomenal legal scholar and a very approachable stalwart advocate, especially for the voiceless and the underserved. His legal contributions to our city and the country are extraordinary and can only be surpassed only by his unyielding willingness to routinely respond to the cries of help from our grassroots communities. God bless Mr. Payton and the Payton family.
