To the family of Johnny Cash:

I have heard a lot of great things about Johnny Cash, but one thing I never heard much about after his death was the fact that he entertained troups in Viet Nam. I was there from July of 68 thru July of 69. One night at the EM club, in Long Bihn where I was stationed, Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash and Carl Perkins put on a great performance. After the show, we all got to go up and shake their hands. I got an autograph from each of them. I told Johnny as I shook his hand that I had enjoyed seeing the Bob Hope show, but that Johnny's show was even greater because we got to go on the stage and talk to him, June and Carl. Not only was Johnny Cash a great singer in my eyes, he was a great man.
