I go back to the 50's with the Crests and their great songs...Johnny was the first celebrity that I had ever met in 1963 at the Azteca club in Bethlehem, Pa...A very congenial, approachable star...Just a really nice guy....I'll always love the music and be grateful for having met you....The angels have real competition up there now...thanks for the memories...

I am 80 and now alone. I remember your beautiful voice and I listen to you on my computer, close my eyes, think of days gone by and dance alone. Thank you Mr. M for helping a senior keeping beautiful memories and music alive. Bless you and your family.

For sure, Johnny Maestro had one of the greatest singing voices of all time. I listen to his albums on CDs and via the Internet in my car. Johnny is leading the Universe's greatest band and chorus way up high in heaven. God has a front row seat. RIP Sir Maestro.

Rest in Peace Johnny. Your amazing voice was a part of many of our great experiences growing up and still triggers memories of when we were young.

Your music will live on, but you will be missed! I grew up listening to the Crests, then the BB, and what a voice! I just listened to some oldies on Youtube, bringing back memories. One of the best Tenors! I saw one of the last concerts at Woodbridge, NJ, summer concerts.

A wonderful gentleman and an incredible voice to lose, wishing he had recorded more tunes! First saw him as a high school student when I took a bus trip from Toronto to NYC, the purpose of the trip. Afterwards I saw him on Long Island where most the people were much older, and the next time was in Rochester NY where it was a University crowd and I was the old one. Was fortunate to see him a few other times, but distance and circumstances were a prevention. To describe his voice maybe words such as incredible, awesome, professional, unique are a start. Difficult to stop talking, thinking about the Maestro!!!!

I've only started to listen to Mr. Maestro's music recently. I'm only 43 and although I was exposed to his music from The Crests through my dad when I was a young boy, I never really knew of Johnny Maestro. I only knew the songs as The Crests. Within the last few months, I have been listening to my Oldies playlist on my iPod and always found myself replaying songs by The Crests as the singer's voice was incredible. I decided to do some Google searching and started to find out about Mr. Maestro. I have done a lot of research within the last few months and have accumulated much information about him and his songs. Only learning about his death recently really upset me. Not only do I feel horrible for his family, but I feel cheated as I missed out on such a wonderful singer and person. I used to (and still do) watch the PBS Doo Wop specials and although I'm sure I had seen Mr. Maestro performing, it just never really clicked as to who he was. I would watch the specials and always say, I have to get to one of those Doo Wop concerts. Today, listening to his music I think if I had just done some research earlier, I may have been blessed to attend one of his Brooklyn Bridge or Doo Wop concerts and seen a real genius at work. At least Johnny's memory isn't fading as I can attest to. He just obtained a new fan in me and I'm sure new fans are popping up every day. As I continue to listen to more and more of his songs I say, "I remember that song when I was young, I didn't know Johnny Maestro sang that." A perfect example is "Welcome Me Love" I heard it last night watching a Brooklyn Bridge DVD and was like wow, he sang that? Again, it saddens me not to have been able to enjoy this man's voice while I knew it was him. What a loss for the music world. All I know is he will always be remembered and his music will never disappear.
