My son, Hulon, who remembers hearing him on the radio with singers introducing his show with a rousing "Johnny Otis, Johnny Otis!". I was a member of his church on Harvard Street, L.A., the 1980's, I believe.

To Johnny,

I was saddened to hear that you had left us. This is "Sugar" (Alesia Butler) from the Otisettes. I want to thank you for giving me and my twin "Honey" Tiresia Butler the opportunity of a lifetime and thats becoming a member of your band. I will never forget all the memories that we shared as a group and all the places that we visited. We would have never have seen or experienced all that we did without you. Thank you for believing in us. We will never forget you. Thank you for doing the eulogy for my sister when she loss her husband, you offered without even thinking, you were a kind soul. God Bless you in the heavens. And God bless your family in this time of sorrow. Love always..........
