Not sure what to say?

Johnny is still remembered, even by kids who were not born when he played. My grandson is 10 and wheres the number six to honor Johnny. Loved the book and Johnny really was M.r. Red Sox

Happy Birthday in heaven Johnny, missing you always my great friend.

Johnny you were one of the best in the game, I enjoyed.
Watching you as a youngster and have enjoyed your being with the ball.club.though the years.
May God be with you,
Ted Poole

My dad had season tickets when Johnny managed the Knoxville (Tennessee) Smokies in 1959. We had box seats at the end of the home team dugout and had small conversations with him often. The highlight came when I got to take him a box of chewing tobacco in the dressing room-I was only 13 years old. He found a ball and signed it for me and I still treasure this more than autographed balls I have purchased. He was a prince of a man. Rest in peace.
