We shall miss you Johnny!

My grandgather brought me to Fenway Park to see my first game, 35 years ago. Johnny was my Grandfathers hero, and mine also. I met you when I was 11. You shook my hand and rubbed my head and told me what a pretty girl I was. I played baseball then and still do now. Because of you. Thank You Johnny Pesky. You are and will always be alive in our hearts. We love you, Boston loves you, and the Red Sox will never be the same. Thank you for dedicating your life to Boston.

My husband was your fathers room mate in the service and lent him his car for his first date with your Mom. . My kids use to call him Uncle Pesky whenever My husband took them to a game, gave them autograph balls and made time for pictures. Never forgot a friend!!!

I wasn't born when you played but you and Tek were always my favorites. Thank you for all that you gave the Boston Fans. You will be sorely missed on this earth but you're now with your beloved wife and The Boys of Summer... whatta hell of a baseball team is playing in Heaven. You played for the love of the game and not the accolades. I will miss seeing you at Fenway...

Simply put, Mr. Pesky was everything that was good about baseball. He was Mr. baseball in New England and he can never be replaced. I'm 48 years old and have been a sox fan since i was born. I remember going to Fenway when I was a little kid and my dad saying, "that's Johnny Pesky hitting infield/outfield practice." Somehow, I thought Johnny was just going to live forever. His body may have died, but his spirit will live forever at Fenway Park. Rest easy Mr. Pesky, you've earned it.

This man is one of the last great men that young children have as a role model. John truly loved his fans he did not care if you were rich or poor he treated every person the same with kindness and dignity ,their was nothing phony about him,the players of today could learn a lesson from John Pesky what a wonderful world this would be if we had more men like him.

I never met this wonderful man. I wish that I could have. I am a Red Sox fan for the past 60 years. I always admired the way he loved his job, wore his uniform ,carried his bat and ball. Helped the team in every after he was thru with his paying jobs. He was the Red Sox Grandfather loved by all . How wonderful to leave this world with so much love. All players take note. Lila Madfis
