Although we came from different generations, John and I shared an interest in Liberatore ancestry. Many years ago John created a family tree document. He generously mailed a copy to one of his cousins in New York. Over the years, John's family tree document was passed from one cousin to another and to their children, even making it to Europe.

More recently while researching our Italian ancestors, a Liberatore family tree document was mailed to me from the Netherlands by a contact whom I had met on Ancestry.com. I couldn't wait to share it with John and called him to set up a meeting. To both of our great surprise, when John looked at the document he recognized it was the one he had created many years earlier. His document had traveled around the globe and had been returned to him!

I am very sad that he is no longer with us. My condolences go out to Dennie, Helen & Sandy, and the entire family.

Dennie, Nan, Helen and Family

Please accept my condolences on John's passing. He was one of my closest friends when we worked together at Rockdale School. He was always there to lean on when needed. He had great understanding abilities. I did not know he was ill. He will be missed by all who where close to him. I considered him a great friend and Principal.

I was one of Mr. Liberatore's kids at Rockdale Grade School. He was a nice man and a great teacher. RIP in Mr. Liberatore

May God Bless the family of Mr. Liberatore at this time of sorrow. I have fond memories of him as a young, vibrant, and inspiring teacher who provided encouragement, compassion, and enthusiasm in every classroom lesson for the students of his 4th grade class in 1963 at Rockdale Public Grade School. I vividly remember the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and that it was Mr. Liberatore who told us with great calm and reverence, that the President had been shot and had died. He instructed us that we needed to go home to be with our family. He was stern when necessary, but with care and kindness. I will remember him always with great respect.
