Baran, Leonard F. "Len" Age 88. Of Plainfield, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Born May 25, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Katherine Baran. Len proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for 35 years. Survived by his loving wife Lillian (nee Oszczepinski) of 69 years. His devoted children Leonard Jr. (Rhonda and the late Linda), Patricia (Thomas) Miller, Don (Beth) Linda (Kip) Mullins and Jeff (Sue) Baran. Proud grandfather of Scott Baran, Mark Baran, Lisa Miller Sheldon, JT Mullins (Sondra Henry), Matt (Tricia) Mullins, Brian, Todd and Kyle Baran, Great-grandfather of Nick (Brittany) Baran, Tyler Baran (Gabby Giovannini), Jacob Sheldon and Ellie Sheldon. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Julius Baran, Lillian Heyse, Joseph Baran and Marie Jennings. Funeral Services for Leonard F. Baran will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warriors Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675 appreciated.
