To the Family of SS Jonathan Davis,

I do not know if you will be reading this because more than a year has passed since your loss. My very deepest condolences to all of Jonathan's family and friends. Just yesterday at a Mass service at a church in Albany, NY where I was visiting, each attendee was handed a card with the name of a fallen hero as they entered the church. We were asked to pray for them and that is when I first learned of your loss. I "googled" Jonathan to learn a bit more about him and this is where I found the guest book. Regardless whether or not you are able to read this, it will be my honor to keep him and his loved ones in my prayers. Please know that even years after his loss, his sacrifice has not been forgotten. God bless you all.

Myself and my Family extend our most sincere condolences to the Family and Friends of SSgt. Jonathan Davis. Being a Gold Star Parent ourselves, we know the pain and anguish that all are experiencing, and regretfully, it never goes away. I had the distinct Honor to receive Jonathans dogtags this year at the Mideast Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, Illinois on June 15th. I also had a rubbing of Jonathans name done and would very much like to get these items to his Wife/Mother or whoever would like to receive them. Myself and a friend are riding our motorcycles west starting July 2 and on July 30 will be within 200 miles of his hometown. We plan to ride in and see if we can contact his Family. If you are family please contact me at the email listed. our hearts are with you as you wonder if this is all really happening, if there was not some mistake. Surely there must be. Rest in Peace young Warrior. We are all very proud of the young man you had become. Sincerely.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jonathan will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.
