Dear Brave Cmdr. Acevedo,

I just wanted to tell you that I'm proud to be a fellow citizen of your's. What would we do if people like you, people with courage and conviction would not step up? I pray you have found peace in the place where there are no wars. I pray you smile and feel the sun on your face. I pray you run and experience beauty and self worth in God's kingdom. Your family will miss you, but you will see each other again. You will all be young and perfect and you will never be lonely. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Hello:
You do not know me but I left a tribute for your family member at an earlier date. The reason for my note is to let you know of a group of people who are willing to do portraits of fallen soldiers in wood free of charge. If your family is interested you can visit their website at www.SSPSoldierPortraits@groups.msn.
com. I became aware of this site when I tried to do something special for my son's best friend's mother (my son's best friend was KIA 7/6/07, he was 18). Some of you may have already had this done but for those who did not and would like to, please contact them they are wonderful people.

God bless you and I am so sorry for your loss. Your HERO will never be forgotten.

I hope all is well in the ACEVEDO household. I am sorry for your loss and I am proud that he was a commander in the navy. It gives me pride to know that I too am an Acevedo from the Bronx. I stumbled across his name while trying to locate my grandfather who I've never met. I am still serving in the Army for the last six years. If you would like to discuss the Acevedo family with me..I'd love to talk...my email is mikeacevedo70@yahoo.com. Take care and God Bless

To the family of Cmdr. Acevedo,
I am so so very sorry for you loss. There are no words to express how hard this must be. I wanted to let you know about a memorial I am working on to honor the soldiers from the New York City Area. I am creating a quilt with a panel for each fallen soldier. I am trying to contact the families to invite them to create their loved one's panel. If you are interested please contact me at nycfallensoldiers@yahoo.com
