Lt,
It has been several months since we bid you farewell, and I think of you often. I still remember you running the Air Force 1/2 Marathon just a few days before you left us. I laughed at you because you were sore the next day. Well it's your turn; I will be running the Air Force Marathon this Sept in honor of you. Thanks for the Inspiration!

Nearly 6 months has gone by and there is not a day that goes by that I don't in some way shape or form think about one of the greastest men I have had the privilage to serve with. No words can describe the level of commitment LT had to his Airmen. You are missed sir. I will see you again someday.

My heartfelt sympathy to Helton the family and friends in the loss of Joseph. I did not know Joseph, but my heart is broken and I am saddened for your loss of such a fine young person and hero. May God bring you peace in your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. My heart was touched by the many wonderful/beautiful things written about you. Joseph you are my hero and you will NEVER be forgotten.
I send each of you a hug from the most inner part of my heart.
Love and Peace
Tom

To the family of 1st Lt. Joseph D. Helton:

No words could possibly ease the loss of your honored son.

Joseph is truly a hero amongst men.

To give the ultimate sacrifice while fighting and defending our country can never be forgotten.

May God take Joseph into his arms, and hold on to your beloved son, easing his pain as well as helping him to ease your pain and suffering through his love.

God Bless Joseph and his family.
